Coming up in 2023 on Simracing.GP

As well as continued development on the platform we have planned a bunch of events for everyone to take part in ranging from Jimmy Broadbent’s Team 87 initiative through to an SGP / RaceRoom collaboration. But this is just the stuff we currently have planned, we expect to add much more to this in the near future.

In no particular order here is a brief summary of each of the planned activities.

1) Team87 / Jimmy Broadbent

As many of you will already know, Jimmy bought his Championship winning Praga R1 at the end of last year. His aim is to take drivers from their sim to real racing through his brand new Team87 initiative. Open to drivers from the UK, without professional experience in esports or real world racing, the Team87 challenge will bring through talents who wouldn’t have had the chance to go real racing before.

If you have any desire to break through into real world racing but don’t have the means to do so, then keep your eyes glued to SGP and Jimmy’s social media for updates for how to get involved very soon.

2) SGP Rivals

Imagine the Champions League of sim racing. Communities go head to head against one another in home and away races. Each round the communities take part in two events and score points in each. The highest scoring team goes through. The twist is that each community chooses the format for one of the events. For example if it was ACCSS Vs Mad Formula Student, ACCSS will likely pick a 45 minute sprint on ACC and Mad will almost certainly pick two 20 minute sprint races in the incredible Formula Student car on Assetto Corsa.

The good news is this is open to any community from anywhere, you don’t have to be on SGP to enter this competition. If you would like to register interest for your community just complete the form here.

Stay tuned for more news on Rivals coming soon.

3) RaceRoom / SGP Championship

Working in collaboration with RaceRoom, we will be bringing users of both platforms a brand new competition in 2023. Utilising the best elements from both platforms, users of all skill levels can expect a fun and varied competition.

4) Ranked Racing on SGP

Ranking 1.5 has been live on SGP for a month or so now and we are about to drop the next update onto the platform very soon. This will bring the ability to split drivers by rank automatically. This opens up a world of possibilities for round the clock racing on all the supported sims.

5) Pro Series - Season One

When the complete competition system is live we won’t just have a rank but a safety rating and licence system. This in turn allows us to create series based on Rank and License. Our flagship professional series will be open to those with the highest rank and licence. This competition will be towards the end of the year so start building your rank today if you think you have what it takes to compete with the best.

6) SGP 24 hours

Another benefit to having automated servers is the ability to split team events. Our first SGP 24 hours race will be open to teams of all skill levels with the highest ranking team competing in a live stewarded top split. Racing on the incredible Assetto Corsa Competizione this will be an event not to be missed.

Stay tuned for more information on all of these events. We are close to getting things rolling so be sure to check back with us regularly so you don’t miss out on any of the action.

We look forward to seeing you on track.
