Secured Servers - Driver's Guide

Secured Servers - Driver's Guide

We want your races on Simracing.GP to go as smoothly as possible. That's why we have given event organisers new security controls which they can choose to turn on if the wish. This means the servers will be more secure and your race should go off without a hitch. In order for us to achieve this additional layer of security we require drivers to complete a simple step before the start of your race.

Here is what you need to know.

If your event organiser has opted to turn on the additional security features you will have to log into Simracing.GP from your gaming PC before the start of your race. This will allow us to automatically detect your gaming PC which will be competing in the race. This essentially allows us to block any other PCs trying to connect to the server.

A couple of things to remember:

  • You do not need to keep your web browser open while your game is running
  • We will ignore mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, so you can continue to browse SGP ahead of your event without fear that your computer wont be detected
  • If you login to Simracing.GP from a different laptop or desktop before the start of your race, make sure to log back in from your gaming PC before the start of your race.

That's all you have to do. Log into Simracing.GP from your gaming PC before your race starts.

You will know If your event organiser has opted to add the additional security to the event because a yellow banner will apear at the top of the event screen with the following message:

Remember, not all races will have these additional security features enabled so these steps aren't always required, only when you see the yellow banner appear at the top of an event page.

If you have any questions or need support please feel free to contact us on the SGP Discord.

Good luck and Have fun!
