PLR / SGP Support for Ukraine Race

PLR / Simracing.gp Support for Ukraine Race.

Unfortunately there isn’t much that we can do which will change what happens in Ukraine at this moment in time, however, we want to show our support in the form of a fundraising event to support the humanitarian assistance in the region.

Simracing.gp is sponsoring Pro League Racing and their 6 Hours of Nurburgring Support for Ukraine race on 3rd April 2022. This team event is hosted by one of Simracing.gp’s finest communities and will surely be a lot of fun for all involved. With 35 teams already signed up the grid is looking good already.

There is a minimum of two drivers needed per team as well as a minimum £5 donation to the GlobalGiving Ukraine Crisis Relief fund. To sign up to the event simply make you donation on the link below and then register your team on Simracing.gp

As a mark of our support the Simracing.gp team will be donating £1500 to the fund and providing resources and services to Pro League Racing where required to make the event run as smoothly as possible.

If you are not planning to participate you can follow all the action on the Pro League Racing twitch channel from 12:15 UTC on Sunday 3rd April. Feel free to come and support the team and donate to the fund if possible.

In addition to the Support for Ukraine race we have made some changes to Simracing.gp

We believe we have a responsibility, along with other global organisations, to respond to the Russian government’s ongoing military attack on Ukraine. As a result, we have decided to show our solidarity with the Ukrainian population by changing the banner on the homescreen of the SGP app to one on the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Moreover we have removed the use of the Russian and Belarussian flags on the platform. This decision is not about the people of Russia – it is a consequence of the actions of the Russian Government. We are a values-driven organisation that believes in doing the right thing with hope for a future when peace is restored. Drivers from Russia and Belarus are not banned from participating on the platform but the visibility of the respective flags will be restricted while there is conflict in the region.
