Club Formula Protest and Penalty Regulations

Club Formula Protest and Penalty Regulations

Effective May 2025 | Applies to all Club Formula events

1. Protest Procedure

All protests must be submitted via the official protest system within Simracing.GP. Only incidents raised through this platform will be considered for review.

1.1 How to Submit a Protest

To file a protest, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the results page of the relevant race on Simracing.GP.

  2. Click the ‘Protests’ tab.

  3. Select ‘Protest Race’.

  4. From the dropdown, choose the name of the driver you are protesting.

  5. Provide a video link in accordance with the requirements below.

  6. Add a clear and concise description of the incident.

  7. Click submit.

1.2 Video Submission Requirements

All video submissions must include:

  • Chase cam views of:

    • Your car

    • The car being protested

    • Any other relevant vehicles

  • Cockpit cam views of:

    • Your car

    • The car being protested

    • Any other relevant vehicles

Additional requirements:

  • Videos must include the ‘pedals’ HUD to display driver inputs.

  • Videos must be played at normal (1x) speed with no speed alterations.

  • Submissions must be uploaded to a recognised video platform, such as YouTube or Streamable.

  • Videos must be publicly accessible to stewards (i.e. not private or password-protected).

⚠️ Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in the protest being automatically rejected.

2. Penalty System: CF4 and CF3

CF4 and CF3 are qualification-based series where prizes are awarded based on the total number of laps completed in a given month. As a result, time or points-based penalties are not appropriate. Instead, Club Formula uses a Driver Standards Card system.

2.1 Driver Standards Card System

  • Each driver accumulates penalty points on their Driver Standards Card when found at fault for an incident or rules breach.

  • The number of points applied is determined by the steward and reflects the severity of the offence.

  • Upon reaching 20 penalty points, a driver becomes ineligible for any CF4 or CF3 prizes for that month.

There is no upper limit to the number of points that can be applied for a single offence.

3. Penalty System: CF2 and CF1

CF2 and CF1 are structured league formats with championship points tables. Therefore, a traditional penalty system applies.

3.1 Penalty Structure

Penalties will be issued according to the severity and context of the offence:

  • Warning
Minor offence with minimal or no impact on another driver’s race or points

  • –10% Championship Points
Minor offence with some impact on another driver or clear breach of racing rules

  • –25% Championship Points
Significant offence or a second offence following a warning

  • –50% Championship Points
Serious incident, typically involving multiple cars or deliberate behaviour

  • Disqualification
Reserved for the most serious breaches of conduct or regulations

Stewards reserve the right to apply additional or alternative sanctions where appropriate.

4. Stewarding

  • All incidents submitted through the protest system will be reviewed as promptly as possible by the Club Formula stewarding team.

  • Outcomes and penalties will be visible publicly via the protest page on Simracing.GP.

  • A steward’s decision is final. Abuse or disrespect toward stewards will not be tolerated and may result in additional sanctions.

5. Cheating and Exploits

If you suspect a driver of using cheats, hacks, or exploits and do not wish to submit a public protest:

  • Contact: 📧 support@simracing.gp

  • Include any supporting evidence such as replays, screenshots, or logs.

All reports are handled confidentially.
