1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. Understanding the Rules

1.1.1 Every Driver participating in any SGP Ranked event or competition agrees to have understood the rules, and agrees to obey the rules. By entering the event, the drivers or teams are bound to the Rulebook provided by the organisers.

1.1.2 Failure to understand the rules is not an excuse. If you have questions about certain rules, please ask the Simracing.GP Team via email (support@simracing.gp) or the Logitech G Challenge Discord Server.

1.2. Staff Decisions

1.2.1 The decisions made by the SGP Staff or delegated Race Organisers are final and binding. If a situation is not covered by the rules, the SGP Staff will have the final and binding decision on it.

1.3. Special Events Ruleset

1.3.1 In case of a Special Event, organised by the Simracing.GP Team, a ‘Special Events Ruleset’ will be provided before the event and can at any time overrule the existing Rulebook.

1.4. Staff

1.4.1 The SGP Ranked Staff  consist of the SGP Dev Team, Race Control and Broadcast Team all sanctioned and supported by Simracing.GP. Any users found to be imitating an SGP Staff member for the purposes of Logitech Events will have their account removed from the platform.

2. ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
2.1 Discord

2.1.1 Discord will be the main hub where Logitech Community Staff will communicate with drivers relating to these events. The Discord Invitation link can be found on the top right of the Logitech Simracing.GP Community.

2.1.2 All members racing in the Logitech Community Races must use their real names on the SGP Platform, as well as within the Logitech G Challenge Discord.

3 SGP PURE PERFORMANCE RANK

3.1 What is SGP Pure Performance Rank?

3.1.1 SGP Pure Performance Rank is a bespoke system built by the team at Simracing.GP to rank drivers against each other in all events on the platform. It not only challenges you to beat the other drivers on track with you, but also drivers all across the platform.

3.1.2 After completing 1 ranked race on Simracing.GP, you will receive a larger amount of SGP Rank once the event is complete, this will be your starting point on the platform. The more you race, the more accurate your SGP Rank will become over time.

3.1.3 It is important to understand, the SGP Pure Performance Rank is different to any other ranking system, and it is therefore not comparable to the likes of an ELO or MMR Based system you may find on other simracing related titles, or non-simracing related titles and it is important to approach it with an open mind. Drivers are not only challenged with beating other drivers on track, but achieving their best possible performance on track.

3.2 How does the system determine Rank gains and losses?
3.2.1 SGP Pure Performance Rank compares your on track performance against not only the drivers you are competing with, but how you perform against what the system recognises as your ‘absolute best possible performance.’ This includes a wide selection of variables, including, but not limited to, car choice, track conditions, contact with other drivers, consistency during race events and how you perform against the other drivers on track with you.

3.2.2 Once you reach the upper echelons of SGP Pure Performance Rank, you are expected to be performing at peak performance on a consistent, race-to-race basis, performances not to that level, will have a detrimental effect to the potential SGP Rank you may receive.

3.2.3 Drivers who register to an event, and do not take part in the race should expect to lose a large portion of their accumulated SGP Rank, at a minimum a DNS will result in -500 SGP rank loss to the driver.

3.2.4 Drivers who register to an event, and do not complete 75% race distance, will result in a DNF, and should expect to lose a smaller portion of their accumulated SGP Rank, at a minimum a DNF will result in -300 SGP rank loss to that driver.

3.2.5 SGP Pure Performance Rank also takes into account how active you are as a driver on Simracing.GP, across all of its communities and competitions that it provides. If a driver does not take part in an event on a regular basis, they can expect to receive ‘Rank Decay’ which will grow over time depending on how inactive the driver is. Drivers wishing to not sustain decay on their account, should ensure they take part in 1 Ranked Race every 3 weeks.

3.3 SGP Pure Performance Rank in more detail
3.3.1 SGP Pure Performance Rank is always learning as drivers take part in more and more events on the platform, with a mixture of our teams development and machine learning, it allows us to compare drivers performance across all the titles that we fully support irrelevant as to whether they are a GT3 or Open-Wheel Specialist or prefer one game over another.

3.3.2 Drivers should not be afraid to try new cars and track combos in a fear of doing irreversible damage to their SGP Rank. Racing on the platform, through SGP’s competitions or its communities will get you back to where you should be in terms of the platform wise SGP Pure Performance rank, the more you race on the platform.

.

3.3.3 When new content is added from any title that SGP fully supports, there is a period of time in which events using the new content, will only be able to used on a ‘Unranked’ basis whilst the system evaluates where the new content sits amongst the pre-existing content that we are working with. This process is usually between 24-72 hours depending on how popular the new content is.

4.4. SIMRACING.GP SESSIONS AND COMPETITIONS

4.4.1. Free Practice

4.4.1.1. Free practice sessions are to be used to join the server, and wait in the pitlane for qualifying to start.

4.4.1.2. No car should leave the pit lane during Free Practice. Doing so will result in repercussions  for the drivers out on track, post race, including, but not limited to, temporary bans & removal of points if applicable.

4.4.1.3. The only exception to this is when a Free Practice Session is longer than or equal to 10 Minutes, this can be used by drivers to ‘Warm-Up’ for their race that is about to start, and drivers can use the track during that time.

4.4.1.4. Pure Performance data is collected whenever a driver is in the server, from start to finish, in all sessions.

4.4.2. Qualifying

4.4.2.1. Qualifying sessions are typically attached to an actual race session and happen right before the race or in some cases can be set as stand-alone qualifying sessions. Attached qualifying sessions or stand-alone qualifying sessions determine the qualifying order, which is used to grid cars in race sessions.

For qualifying sessions attached to the actual race session, that specific qualifying session determines the grid order. For stand-alone qualifying sessions, the grid order is updated throughout the week, and race sessions are gridded according to the qualifying order, as it exists at the race session start time.

4.4.2.4. Pure Performance data is collected whenever a driver is in the server, from start to finish, in all sessions.

4.4.2.3. Drivers who have not posted a qualifying time before a race will start the race session from the back of the grid. If there are multiple drivers without qualifying times in a given race session, they will be gridded behind all drivers who have posted times, from the order in which they join the server.

4.4.2.4 It is a violation of the Sporting Regulations for a driver to deliberately disqualify themselves during qualifying, in order to start at the back of the grid. Doing so will result in repercussions  for the drivers out on track, post race, including, but not limited to, temporary bans & removal of points, naturally, this will also have a detrimental effect on the drivers Pure Performance rank due to the Disqualification being logged for the driver.

4.4.3. Race

4.4.3.1. Race sessions are real-time competitions with multiple cars on the same track at the same time.

4.4.3.2. Pure Performance data is collected whenever a driver is in the server, from start to finish, in all sessions.

4.4.3.3. All Ranked Official Race Sessions are recorded and factored into a driver’s Pure Performance calculation.

4.4.3.4. A race session is considered an Official Race Session if it meets the minimum number of drivers as defined by the specific race session rules.

5 IT’S TIME TO RACE!

5.1. Individual Registration

5.1.1. All Ranked Simracing.GP races are typically available for registration at least  4 Hours prior to the start of the event, the majority of the time being multiple days before the session is due to go live.

5.1.2. A timer is visible  on each event in the Simracing.GP Website counting down to the start of the race session.

5.1.3. Anytime between the opening of registration and 2 minutes prior to the session start time, drivers may withdraw from the race session.

5.1.4. Drivers who forfeit a race will be credited with a last-place finish and earn 0 Race Points for that race and lose 300 Pure Performance Points

5.1.5. Drivers who register, but do not take part, in a race will be credited with a DNS, lose 500 Pure Performance Points and risk their chances to take part in future competitions. If you register for an event, you are expected to take part.

5.3. FIELD SIZE

5.3.1. The minimum number of drivers for a Ranked Race is typically set at 6 drivers, but this is a guide and not a rule. Various other factors can impact adjusting the minimum number of drivers including community input.

5.3.1.1 The minimum number of drivers for a server to launch is set to 4. If less than 4 drivers register for the event, then the server will not go live, and drivers will need to sign up to the next available event.

5.4. Race Length

5.4.1. Race lengths are determined based on community input, data, historical experience, fun, competition, and other factors. Simracing.GP reserves the right to adjust race lengths for all series on a seasonal basis.

5.5. Race Splits

5.5.1. Simracing.GP strives to have similarly skilled drivers racing together in each event. The more drivers that register for a given race time, typically the closer the skills of each driver will be matched for that race. Should more drivers register for a race session than the track and/or series allows, the race will be instantiated and the registered drivers are split into separate fields that race at the same time.

5.5.2. Drivers are placed in a particular race split based primarily on their Pure Performance Rank at the time they register to the race.

5.5.3. Other factors may be taken into account for determining race splits beyond Pure Performance Rank at the sole discretion of Simracing.GP in order to improve the online competition environment.

5.6. Starting

5.6.1. Standing Start

5.6.1.2. For a standing start, the countdown to the start of the race will be signaled by the sequential illumination of red lights. After a short delay, all red lights will turn green simultaneously, signifying the green flag has been thrown and the race has started.

5.6.1.3. Any motion by a car prior to the display of the green flag may be viewed by Race Control as a jump start and result in an additional penalty.

5.7.2. Rolling Start

5.7.2.1. GT Races typically use a rolling start.

5.7.2.2. Once all drivers are on the grid, the lead car will lead the field around part of the track.

5.7.2.3. As the front row of cars approaches the start/finish line, the green flag will be shown, signifying the start of the race.

5.8. Intentional, Retaliatory, And/Or Malicious Wrecking

5.8.3. Deliberate, blatant, intentionally malicious, or retaliatory wrecking, for any reason, is prohibited. Competitors who believe that they have been victims of such action – and those competitors who believe that they have witnessed such action – are strongly encouraged to file a protest through the proper channels (See Protests, Section 8).

6. PENALTIES

6.1. BREACH OF RULES

6.1.1. Any of the following offenses, in addition to any offenses referred to previously, shall be deemed to be a breach of Logitech Race rules:

6.1.1.1. Any action having as its object to illegally alter the simulation, content, cars, tracks or any aspects of the software to gain unfair competitive advantage.

6.1.1.2. Any fraudulent conduct or any act prejudicial to the interests of any competition or to the interests of racing in general.

6.1.1.3. Cutting the Course – Drivers gaining an advantage by following a course configuration other than the one specified for the event will be assessed by each title’s software. Any other cutting of the course infractions can be protested and could  result in a post race penalty issued by the Simracing.GP Team.

6.1.1.4. Blocking – The leading driver is allowed to run a defensive line. However, blocking occurs when a leading driver actively adjusts his or her driving line based on the actions and/or positioning of a pursuing driver. For example, veering left to prevent a pursuing driver from passing on the left while running on a straight.

6.1.1.5. Damaged Vehicles – Drivers with damaged vehicles should self-assess their ability to drive the car on a live race track under full control. If you feel that you cannot do that, due to the damage received, please use all titles ‘RETURN TO PIT’ functionality to ensure that you do not endanger the spirit of competition and create an unsafe environment for the remaining drivers not damaged and still racing.

6.1.1.9. Drivers may not use nefarious tactics to gain an advantage in Qualifying or Events that reward Fastest Lap Times. For example, a driver could have a car slow down for the sole purpose of creating a drafting situation for the benefit of a slower car. This may or may not include cutting the course. Simracing.GP will determine what constitutes an advantage. Getting a draft through normal qualifying, race strategy or luck is okay.

6.1.2. Any member found in breach of the Logitech Sporting Code or any Supplementary Regulations by Logitech or Simracing.GP may result in penalty for the offending member. The decisions will become immediately binding regardless of pending appeals. The penalty will remain in effect until the appeal process has concluded. All appeals are to be made according to the proper procedure, and are subject to limitations (See Appeals, Section 9).

6.2. APPLICATION OF PENALTIES

6.2.1. Penalties may be applied as follows, and in no particular order:

6.2.1.2. Race Disqualification. This penalty is not subject to appeal.

6.2.1.3. Restrictions to various parts of Logitech Racing, Simracing.GP and/or its sanctioned competitions. This penalty may be subject to appeal (See Appeals, Section 9).

A) Restricted from participating in Race and Qualifying sessions for all Logitech  Series.

B) Restricted from participating in any and all multiplayer Sessions managed by Simracing.GP.

C) Restricted from participating in Community Managed Sessions.

E) Restricted from using Simracing.GP Discord’s voice chat, text chat, and/or both voice and text chat.

F) Suspended from the entirety of Simracing.GP

6.2.1.4. Indefinite revocation of Simracing.GP membership. This penalty may be subject to appeal (See Appeals, Section 10).

6.2.2. If a member is assessed probation or suspension, they must serve the full term of the penalty while their Simracing.GP membership is active.

6.2.3. Regardless of any Protests, Appeals, or Penalties assessed, Safety Ratings or Pure Performance Ranks will not be adjusted.

6.3 Events with Live Stewarding

6.3.1 In some cases, Logitech events may feature live stewarding. For these events, a supplementary set of event regulations will be distributed to the drivers informing them of the application of penalties during live stewarded events.

6.3.1.1 Examples of Live Stewarded events may include Sanctioned Competition Finals, Special Events etc.

6.3.2 Articles in the supplementary set of event regulations may make temporary adjustments to the Sporting Regulations for a given period of time, the supplementary set of regulations will overrule this document if that is the case.

6.3. Post Race Penalties Resulting in Loss of Titles

6.3.1. Any competitor or Simracing.GP member penalized in any way may lose the right to receive awards granted for a racing or driving competition at the sole discretion of Simracing.GP

6.3.2. Simracing.GP retains the right to withhold any awards from competitors if found that they have violated the Terms of Service, Code of Conduct, or the Simracing.GP Official Sporting Regulations.

6.4. Publication of Penalties

6.4.1. Simracing.GP reserves the right to publish the name of any Simracing.GP member assessed a penalty, as well as the nature of the infraction or violation and any associated penalties, in its own publications or those of any other affiliated public forum.

7. PROTESTS

7.1. Who May Protest

7.1.1. The right to file a Protest shall rest with any Logitech member who observes the incident in question or feels any part of the Logitech Sporting Regulations have been violated.

7.2. Lodging a Protest

7.2.3. Protests must be made within 7 days of the infraction or violation that is being protested.

7.3. Review of Protest

7.3.1. It is expected that protests shall be reasonable, logical, and based on sound evidence, thus well founded. Nevertheless, a well-founded protest may still be defined as one upon which reasonable people may differ.

7.3.2. Simracing.GP shall review a protest as soon as practical after the protest is lodged and during normal business hours. Affected parties may be notified about the protest and judgment of the protest. Simracing.GP shall review all evidence and be entitled to discuss the incident with other witnesses or parties involved or to gather additional evidence.

7.3.3. Simracing.GP may investigate any member against whom one or more protests have been filed, regardless of the outcome of any protests against or appeals by that member.

7.3.4. Regardless of the outcome of any protest, Simracing.GP may deem a protest to be frivolous or incomplete if it is found by Simracing.GP to not to be reasonable, logical, or based on sound evidence. Simracing.GP reserves the right to assess a penalty on any member filing a frivolous protest.

7.3.5. All parties concerned shall be bound by the decision given, subject only to a formal appeal (See Appeals, Section 10).

8 APPEALS

8.1.1. Any member issued a penalty shall have the right to appeal any decision or penalty imposed by Simracing.GP unless otherwise stated in the penalty notice itself, or in the Simracing.GP Ranked Sporting Regulations.

8.2. Well-Founded Appeals

8.2.1. To be considered, an appeal must be well founded. An appeal shall be reasonable, logical. and based on sound evidence. Regardless of the outcome, Simracing.GP may deem an appeal to be frivolous if it is found not to be reasonable, logical, and based on sound evidence. Simracing.GP reserves the right to assess a penalty to any member filing a frivolous appeal.

8.3. Initiating an Appeal

8.3.1. Appeals must be made in writing, specifically asking for an appeal, specifying the exact nature of the appeal and why it is believed an appeal is warranted, along with all evidence to support the appeal. Written appeals must be addressed to “Appeals Panel - Simracing.GP” and submitted to appeals@simracing.gp. This is the only place to formally make an appeal. Appeals must be submitted within seven days of the penalty or decision being appealed. Any evidence, data, recordings or third party accounts are welcome and encouraged to be submitted with appeal.
