THE RULES

Tournament overview

This competition will be organised by WSC in collaboration with RaceDepartment and Simracing.GP. Using Assetto Corsa, TCR Virtual will be open to all drivers across the globe.

The competition comprises a qualifying and knockout stage across 5 regions around the world. The top 15 drivers in each region will compete to crown continental TCR Virtual Champions. The top 3 from each continent will be invited to the Grand Finale where we will crown the TCR Virtual Champion.

This document outlines the rules and procedures that will be in effect during the series, with a further appendix that will be provided in future for the Grand Finale. This document does not replace the full terms and conditions of entry into the competition. By competing in the TCR Virtual, you fully accept both the terms and conditions and these sporting regulations.

Qualification details

Qualification Phase

To qualify for the regional knockouts drivers must take part in qualification. To qualify drivers must earn a TCR Virtual Achievement by completing a race and completing two criteria:

Qualification Criteria
The following criteria must be achieved during your qualification race to secure your progression into the Knockout Phase.

1. Finish a TCR Virtual Qualifying Race

2. Complete a TCR Virtual Qualifying Race incident free

Both need to be achieved to earn your TCR Achievement and progress to the next round.

The objective of the qualifying phase is to make sure that drivers can drive cleanly. As a member benefit of the Simracing.gp drivers which have participated in the BETA phase of Simracing.gp have been granted the TCR Virtual Achievement if they have completed the above criteria in any previous Assetto Corsa race on the platform. These drivers are deemed to have been evaluated and qualify as safe drivers.

Drivers will have 4 weeks to take part in a Qualification race on Simracing.GP. Qualifying runs from October 18th 2021 - November 11th 2021. A driver can compete in as many qualification races as needed to obtain the TCR Achievement.

Critical Mass Limits

Regional Knockout Phase Races

Drivers can select their competing region within Simracing.GP once they have completed a qualification race and earned the TCR Virtual achievement.

Once you have selected your region, you will become locked in that region for the remainder of the competition. DRIVERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THIS AFTER THEY HAVE SELECTED THEIR REGION - MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE RIGHT ONE!

Regional knockout races will be using servers located within each region. Should the organisational team deem it necessary, we reserve the right to combine Regional Brackets with neighbouring continents should competitors in both regions reach a low threshold to protect competitive integrity.

Regional Bracket Knockout Phase Races will take part on Monday - Friday each week from 19:00 in the server locations local time.

Drivers can choose to take part in One (1) of the knockout heats per round. Tracks will be announced on the Sunday before each round at 19:00 UTC.

Heats will be added on a heat-by-heat basis. This means that as 1 heat fills up, the next will be added until there are no further competitors remaining. For example, Once Heat 1 on Monday is full, we will create Heat 2 for Tuesday. Once we get to Friday, we will go back to Monday and so on until there are no drivers remaining wishing to take part.

On the Saturday of each Knockout Round, Wildcard Day will take place featuring one race in each region at 1900 in which Wildcard Drivers and drivers who the stewarding team determined their chances of qualifying were directly affected by another driver on track will be allowed to enter for their last chance to qualify for the next round. - For stewarding information please refer to the TCR Virtual Discord for how to lodge a stewarding review.

Progression from knockout rounds

In Round One, the Top 50% of the drivers in each race will progress to Round 2. From Round 2 onwards, the Staff team will make it clear in each region how many drivers will progress from each race into the next round. This number will be the same for every race in that round. For example, In Round Two, the Top Six (6) drivers could progress to Round Three and in Round Three, the Top Ten (10) Drivers could progress.

This information will be shared within your Community Hubs in the TCR Virtual Discord no later than 19:00 Local Time on the Sunday before each round.

(i) Drivers are allowed 3 ‘off-tracks’ during all TCR Virtual races. For every 3 ‘off-tracks’ a driver attains, they will be rewarded a +15 second post race penalty to their total race time.

(ii) It will be possible to report incidents via your regions discord category. Incidents will only be penalised if they are ruled ‘competition ending,’ with the driver causing the ‘competition ending’ incident being removed from the competition.

(iii) Your region's stewarding team may offer you a spot in the Wildcard Races if they determined your chances of qualifying were directly affected by another driver on track. You will have 24 hours to accept the spot once notified by a member of the Stewarding Team. If you do not accept the spot within that time, we will assume that you do not wish to use it and you will be knocked out from the competition.
